Our commitment
Agata Hexe Studio is committed to making agatahexe.com accessible to everyone, including people with disabilities. We aim to conform with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA, as required by the European Accessibility Act (EAA) and its German implementation (Barrierefreiheitsstärkungsgesetz / BFSG).
Conformance status
This website is substantially conformant with WCAG 2.1 AA. We actively work to maintain and improve accessibility, and new features are reviewed against WCAG criteria before shipping. Areas under continuous review: • Blog post images uploaded via our CDN: alt text is set at upload time. Existing posts are periodically reviewed to ensure descriptions are accurate and sufficiently descriptive.
Accessibility features in place
• Semantic HTML and ARIA landmarks throughout the site • Skip-to-content link on every page • Keyboard navigation for all interactive elements • Focus indicators visible on keyboard focus • Form inputs associated with visible labels • High-contrast accessibility mode available via the toggle in the site header (persists across sessions); replaces brand-vibrant text colors with WCAG-AA-conformant variants • Most semantic color tokens validated against WCAG 2.1 AA (4.5:1 text, 3:1 UI); a small number of brand-identity elements (e.g. the “Apps” navigation accent) intentionally use the vibrant brand orange and meet AA only when high-contrast mode is enabled • Loading states are announced to assistive technologies via role="status" regions; decorative skeleton placeholders are hidden from screen readers • Cookie consent banner operable without JavaScript-only interactions • Cookie banner Accept and Reject buttons have equal visual prominence • Language of the page declared in HTML
Technologies used
The site is built with Next.js, React, and Tailwind CSS. Accessibility of these frameworks depends on correct implementation; we follow Next.js and MDN accessibility guidance.
Testing approach
We use automated tooling (Lighthouse, axe DevTools) during development. Manual keyboard-only navigation testing is performed on key user flows (contact, newsletter signup, navigation). If you have access to assistive technology and find barriers, we want to hear about them.
